Time to dust off your tap shoes and straw skimmer hats . . . IT’S SUMMER!!! That’s right! Now that summer is officially here, you are free to run down to the beach for a little song and dance with the seagulls!
I absolutely love this moment during Olaf’s big song in Disney’s Frozen! He only dances with the seagulls for around eight seconds, but that was long enough to inspire this paper shadow box!
I made this last year as an entry in to Frozen’s Do You Want to Build a Snowman Sweepstakes. The challenge was to make an Olaf out of any material of your choice! Being a paper crafter, I took this opportunity to craft a 3D paper snowman using 12″ x 12″ textured scrapbook paper. I then took it one step further by adding in a dimensional scene and placing it all in a 10″ x 10″ Ribba Frame from Ikea. I may not have won the sweepstakes, but I did get featured on Frozen’s Instagram Account. That’s close enough, right?!?
What summer plans do you have? Will you be sitting with a drink in your hand and your skin up against the burning sand? Or are you more of a listening to bees buzz and blowing dandelion fuzz kinda person? We are definitely more of an indoor family, but you may catch us tappin’ a little soft-shoe on our patio. After all, it’s SUMMER!
